The purpose of this role is to support the Development team across software development projects, quality assurance activities, research tasks and data analysis. This role is designed as an entry route into software and digital solutions development, providing opportunities to build technical skills while contributing to both client and internal projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Project Delivery: Support development teams with project delivery and coding activities across internal tools, client websites, and digital platforms.
  • Quality Assurance: Complete quality assurance testing against project requirements and document findings clearly and accurately.
  • Error Identification: Assist in identifying, reproducing, and recording issues, defects, and unexpected behaviour.
  • Market Research: Carry out desk research to support PR, SEO and campaigns.
  • Performance Analysis: Gather and analyse data from internal platforms and tools.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Produce clear summaries and reports of research, testing, and data findings for project stakeholders.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Support the creation and maintenance of project documentation.
  • Excellence Communication & Team Working Skills: Work collaboratively with developers, strategists, analysts, and client teams to deliver work to agreed deadlines.
  • Process Adherence: Follow established development, security and quality assurance processes.
  • Coding: Working with various programming languages including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Experience with Excel would be advantageous, but not essential.

  • Training: From your first day you will embark on our extensive training programme. You will quickly be introduced to Development through in-person and virtual classroom sessions, online training, and various workshops. You will be assigned a buddy who is dedicated to your learning and, alongside your manager and the Academy Team, will assist you with any questions you may have.
  • Data: You’ll be working with large sets of data from the beginning of your dentsu career! From the outset you will be spending time in Excel to learn how to analyse your data.
  • Consultative Work: You’ll foster strong, professional relationships with your stakeholders, keeping in regular contact with them through a variety of mediums, whether this is through consistent email communication, weekly phone calls or sometimes regular face-to-face meetings. You will utilise your skills to understand your stakeholder’s goals and objectives.
  • Tools and Platforms: As a Development Junior Associate, you will need to become extremely familiar and confident working with numerous internal platforms built by our teams, alongside using external platforms and tools such as GitHub and BrowserStack. Through our training programme, you will also have the opportunity to take several courses to improve and enhance your skills on a variety of other platforms.
