Are you looking for a new challenge to help a business transform the way they use their core business applications, creating efficiencies and delivering value, whilst improving their digital capability?
A business with an ambitious growth agenda is looking for a Director of Applications to join them to undertake a full review of their business applications portfolio and to create a transformation strategy & roadmap. The opportunity exists to shape the operating model & applications team but will require the candidate to be willing to roll their sleeves up and get into the detail.
This role reports directly to the CIO and will form part of a technology leadership team covering pillars for Core IT (Governance, Cyber, Infrastructure & Operations), Data & Digital. The role will have overall responsibility for the business applications portfolio and budget, including their ERP, CRM, Finance, HR and Payroll systems, alongside mission critical operational platforms that are key to the business’s day-to-day operations; so the successful candidate will also have a good grounding in operational applications.
You will need to have an appreciation of IT architecture and integration, although not from a hands-on perspective, but taking a broad view of the applications portfolio & owning the enterprise-wide design. You will be adept at adding value and creating efficiencies and will be hands-on dealing with internal stakeholders including c-suite, as well as external suppliers and vendors.
The business is investing in a transformation programme which will deliver a modernised technology landscape with a focus on improving business processes, which includes the update and potential replacement of core applications. You will be instrumental in full lifecycle management of the applications portfolio including scoping, selection, implementation, and performance management of these systems.
You will need to appreciate the business strategy and growth drivers to ensure you create a product/application strategy and roadmap to support the growth agenda. With responsibility for the iterative development and improvement of the applications estate via the 3rd party suppliers, communicating these changes to the business effectively and in an inclusive manner.
This is an opportunity to have a real impact in a growing team with a role that will be integral to drive business transformation agenda. You will lead a small team from day one, but also can put together a plan with the associated business case for the future state of the team, underpinned by value creation.
