Quality Manager – Cross-Border eCommerce Logistics - Scale Up Business - circa £45-55,000 plus benefits - Remote (UK-based)
Not many Supply Chain and Logistics businesses have an entire team dedicated to the quality of service they deliver and with an eye on continuous improvement but the Quality team are the hub of everything that goes on in this scale up business. The Quality team is the eyes and ears of the operation—monitoring every touchpoint in the parcel journey, identifying issues before they escalate, and serving as the central hub for service performance communications.
We need a Quality Manager who understands that in cross-border logistics, quality means ensuring every parcel reaches its destination safely, securely, and on time, every time.
What You'll Do
- Analyse performance data across the entire parcel journey—from retailer collection through international transit, customs clearance, and final mile delivery
- Own business-wide communications on service impacts, ensuring swift resolution
- Monitor quality standards across our carrier network and operational partners
- Lead cross-departmental collaboration to drive performance improvements
- Manage, coach and develop the Quality team through regular 1:1s and mentorship
- Act as escalation point for complex quality issues requiring logistics expertise
What You Must Have
Essential Logistics Expertise (Non-Negotiable):
- Experience in cross-border logistics or international supply chain management
- Deep understanding of complete eCommerce fulfilment: collection, consolidation, international transport, customs processes, last-mile delivery
- Working knowledge of carrier operations, tracking systems, and SLAs
- Experience handling customs delays, failed deliveries, damage claims, carrier performance issues
You need to look at a tracking event and immediately know what went wrong, where in the supply chain, and which partner to contact. Without this operational logistics background, this role won't fit.
Essential Skills:
- Proven quality management or service excellence experience in logistics/operations
- Strong analytical skills with operational KPIs (delivery success rates, transit times, damage rates)
- Ability to lead and develop operational teams
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Obsessive attention to detail—in logistics, small errors have big consequences
