The Department
Our Legal Delivery Centre (LDC) is a flexible and scalable paralegal resource for use across all of our UK, Ireland and Middle East offices and across the full spectrum of legal services. Meeting the ever increasing demands for disaggregated legal services, the LDC offers an exciting opportunity for development and the chance to undertake chargeable work that is challenging and engaging. We are presently looking for bright, ambitious and enthusiastic paralegals from across the UK to join our virtual, innovative LDC.
The Role
Meeting the ever increasing demands for disaggregated legal services, the LDC offers an exciting opportunity for development and the chance to undertake work that is varied, challenging and engaging. Predominantly working within the firm's Dispute Resolution group, this role offers an excellent, high quality paralegal experience together with exposure across the firm and to some of the firm's major clients. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team that is integral to the firm's strategy, whilst benefiting from remote working. Whilst this is a virtual role with no expectation or requirement that you attend any of our office locations, anyone located near to one of our UK offices is welcome to attend that office.
Responsibilities
- Providing legal and administrative support to fee earners for their caseloads.
- Producing high quality bundles.
- Attending court hearings and taking minutes / drafting detailed attendance notes.
- Reviewing documents as part of large scale eDisclosure or eDiscovery exercises.
- Undertaking legal research.
- Filing and maintaining correspondence and documentation.
- Maintaining matter trackers.
- Reviewing contractual, legal and statutory documents; able to determine and advise on legal positions.
- Preparing draft or amended pleadings.
- Corresponding with counsel and liaising in a professional manner with other internal or external stakeholders.
- Financial hygiene including time recording and billing.
Required experience, skills, and attributes
- Minimum 12-months practical experience in Dispute Resolution (essential).
- Experience using Bundledocs, Kofax, Relativity and Intapp Time (preferred).
- Basic working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.
- Law degree or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and multi-task.
- Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate drive and initiative.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to deal effectively with Partners and professionals across the firm.
