We are recruiting for a dynamic and creative Public Relations Manager to join the Digital Media, PR and Communications team in the UK, Ireland and Middle East (UKIME) region of the world's largest global law firm. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team, acting as the primary day-to-day contact between Dentons and the Scottish media, while supporting the Senior PR Manager in the daily operation of the UK-wide press office.

Primarily focused on media relations and social media, the Public Relations Manager will help lawyers and professionals generate ideas, pitches and material that delivers high profile coverage across the UK print, online and broadcast media. Working with colleagues from the broader Clients & Markets team, they will also help to develop integrated business development, marketing and PR campaigns aligned to the firm's strategic areas of priority.

While predominantly UK-facing, the Digital Media, PR & Communications team is responsible for media relations, social media, awards and reputation management across the broader UKIME Region, and works closely with colleagues from across the global firm. The position offers an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual with experience of the Scottish market to develop their career at a premium international law firm.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day management of a UK press office that generates media coverage by proactively pitching firm news and responding to queries, while also positioning lawyers as expert media commentators in their areas of specialism.
  • Build and maintain journalist relationships across the legal, sector trade and national media, and ensure the promotion of firm news, successes and culture over social media.
  • Secure high-quality media coverage for key firm announcements, sector expertise and client work.
  • Draft, edit and distribute press releases, articles, media briefings and award submissions that contribute to the firm's overall business goals.
  • Monitor news and trends to identify PR opportunities.
  • Create high-quality, engaging, and informative content for various platforms including websites, blogs, social media and video/audio content hosting platforms.
  • Work with the firm's lawyers and Clients & Markets colleagues to build a pipeline of co-ordinated campaigns across practices and sectors that raise Dentons' profile as a premium legal adviser in the print, broadcast and online media, as well as on social media.
  • Involvement in the firm's awards submission programme that is the responsibility of the Digital Media, PR and Awards Specialist.
  • Supports the Head of Digital Media, PR & Communications with respect to overall firmwide reputation management.
Required experience, skills and knowledge
  • Degree educated with 4+ years' B2B PR and media relations experience, either at agency or in house and ideally in the Scottish market.
  • Experience of the legal and professional services sector desirable.
  • Experience of developing productive media relationships.
  • Conversant with all B2B digital and social media platforms and experience of creating engaging content for digital and social media.
  • Track record of delivering successful media relations campaigns.
  • Exceptional verbal and written ability, with an eye for a story and an understanding of how to generate both media interest and social media engagement.
  • Experience of and passion for working on issues-based campaigns.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well with others and adapt to changing requirements in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
