Job purpose: We’re looking for a highly skilled 3E Templates Developer to join our European team and take ownership of designing, developing, and maintaining billing templates within the Elite 3E, currently on-prem ecosystem. This role is central to ensuring that our billing output is accurate, compliant, and tailored to the diverse requirements of our offices across 18 European countries. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, Billing, IT, and Practice Groups to deliver templates that meet local regulatory standards, reflect regional billing practices, and support firmwide operational excellence. Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Template Development & Technical Expertise
- Design, build, and maintain Elite 3E templates using XML, SQL and the full suite of 3E template technologies.
- Implement advanced logic, conditional formatting, and client-specific billing rules using the underlying 3E data model.
- Ensure templates are optimized for performance, maintainability, and scalability across multiple jurisdictions.
- Stay current with Elite 3E template architecture, including Design Gallery, template rendering engines, and 3E schema updates.
- Local Compliance & Regional Adaptation
- Develop templates that comply with local legal, tax, and regulatory requirements across Europe, including VAT rules, statutory invoice elements, language variations, and jurisdiction-specific billing formats.
- Partner with regional finance teams to understand country-specific billing practices and incorporate them into template logic.
- Maintain documentation of local variations and ensure consistent governance across all regions.
- Requirements Gathering & Collaboration
- Work with Finance and Billing to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Participate in discovery sessions and provide expert guidance on what is technically feasible within the 3E template framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure templates align with firm standards and client expectations.
- Testing, Quality Assurance & Support
- Conduct thorough testing of templates, including data validation, formatting checks, and jurisdiction-specific compliance.
- Support UAT cycles, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes efficiently.
- Provide ongoing support for template-related incidents, enhancements, and change requests.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- Proven experience developing Elite 3E templates, including deep familiarity with the underlying 3E template technology stack.
- Strong proficiency with XML, SQL and related reporting tools.
- Solid understanding of 3E data structures, billing workflows, and financial processes in professional services environments.
- Experience working with multi-country billing requirements, including VAT, statutory invoice elements, and language-specific formatting.
- Ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into scalable, compliant technical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
