The Department
Our Legal Delivery Centre (LDC) is a flexible and scalable paralegal resource for use across all of our UK, Ireland and Middle East offices and across the full spectrum of legal services. Meeting the ever increasing demands for disaggregated legal services, the LDC offers an exciting opportunity for development and the chance to undertake chargeable work that is challenging and engaging. The Role
Meeting the ever increasing demands for disaggregated legal services, the LDC offers an exciting opportunity for development and the chance to undertake work that is varied, challenging and engaging. Predominantly dedicated to the Restructuring and Insolvency team within the firm's Dispute Resolution group, this role offers an excellent, high quality paralegal experience together with exposure across the firm and to some of the firm's major clients. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team that is integral to the firm's strategy, whilst benefiting from remote working. Responsibilities
- You will work as part of a team delivering paralegal support to our Dispute Resolution division, with a key focus on supporting the Restructuring and Insolvency team with a mix of transactional, advisory and contentious work which could include:
- Reviewing contractual, legal and statutory documents; able to determine and advise on legal positions.
- Analysing evidence and financial information.
- Preparing draft or amended pleadings.
- Preparing a Statement of Costs.
- Corresponding with counsel and liaising in a professional manner with other internal or external stakeholders.
- Providing legal and administrative support to fee earners for their caseloads.
- Producing high quality bundles.
- Filing documents on CE-File and follow-ups.
- Attending court hearings and taking minutes / drafting detailed attendance notes.
- Reviewing documents as part of large scale eDisclosure or eDiscovery exercises.
- Undertaking legal research.
- Filing and maintaining correspondence and documentation.
- Maintaining matter trackers.
- Financial hygiene including time recording and billing.
Required experience, skills, and attributes
- Minimum 12-months previous experience in a corporate / commercial insolvency environment (essential).
- Experience using CE-File, Bundledocs, Kofax, Relativity and Intapp Time (preferred).
- Basic working knowledge of The Insolvency Rules and Civil Procedure Rules.
- Law degree or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to organise, prioritise and multi-task.
- Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrate drive and initiative.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to deal effectively with Partners and professionals across the firm.
