Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Duties
- Provide chairside support across a variety of treatments, including:
- General dentistry
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Restorative treatments
- Endodontics
- Oral surgery
- Dental implants
- Invisalign and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms before and after appointments.
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilised, and maintained in accordance with current infection control standards.
- Assist with dental radiography where qualified and authorised.
- Prepare materials and instruments required for clinical procedures.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and update patient information as required.
- Patient Care
- Deliver a welcoming, professional, and reassuring experience for patients.
- Support patients throughout their treatment journey and address queries appropriately.
- Provide oral health and post‑treatment care advice as directed by the clinician.
- Assist with patient education and treatment discussions where required.
- Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with all relevant professional and regulatory standards, including:
- GDC Standards for the Dental Team
- CQC requirements
- GDPR and patient confidentiality regulations
- Monitor stock levels and support the ordering of clinical supplies.
- Complete routine compliance checks and documentation.
- Assist with audits and quality assurance processes.
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with dentists, hygienists, therapists, and reception colleagues.
- Attend practice meetings and training sessions.
- Participate in ongoing CPD and professional development activities.
- Contribute positively to a patient‑centred and professional team culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Essential
- Recognised Dental Nursing qualification.
- Current GDC registration.
- Valid indemnity insurance.
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention and decontamination procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
