Pediatric Dental office is looking for Dental Assistant Level II with 2-3 years of experience. Pediatric experience is an asset.
POSITION/JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experienced Level II Dental Assistant (Level II Diploma or have NDAEB Certificate)
- Ideally have 2-3 years of experience
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Tracker experience preferred
- Enjoy working with kids
LOCATION: Keele & St. Clair (Free Parking)
HOURS: 3-4 weekdays 8-5 & 2 Saturdays per month 8-2
COMPENSATION: $26-$32/hr depending on experience and performance
JOB OVERVIEW:
- Assisting dentist during dental procedures that feature handing instruments and other materials
- Sterilizing instruments
- Assisting dentist with crowns, fillings, sealants, extractions, fluoride treatments, etc.
- Placement and removal of rubber dams
- Taking x-rays of patients' teeth and exposing dental diagnostic x-rays
- Using suction and swabs to keep patients' mouths clear and dry during procedures
- Taking preliminary impressions of teeth for study models
- Applying pit and fissure sealants and topical anesthetics
- Questioning patients about their medical history and recording the information for dentist's reference
- Advising patients on dental care, oral hygiene and plaque control programs
- Making patients of all ages feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
