We’re looking for an experienced Software Developer with strong Delphi/Object Pascal skills to join our IT team and help support, maintain and develop the bespoke ERP applications that underpin key areas of our business.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of established, business-critical systems, combining hands‑on development with problem solving, application support and continuous improvement.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across IT, QA and the wider business to keep our applications stable and resilient, deliver well‑controlled enhancements, and help prepare our systems and data for the future as DD Group progresses towards a new Group ERP platform.
This role is offered on a fixed‑term contract (FTC) until 30th June 2027, giving you the opportunity to make a real impact during an exciting period of change and transformation at DD Group.
- Support and maintain business‑critical Delphi ERP applications and their integrations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, application defects and technical issues.
- Develop and deliver controlled fixes and enhancements in response to business requirements.
- Analyse existing codebases and data structures to understand system behaviour, dependencies and potential risks.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation covering application design, deployment, integrations and known risks.
- Help improve source control, development and release practices.
- Support disaster recovery testing and help strengthen application resilience and recovery processes.
- Assist with controlled data extraction and activities supporting future data migration.
- Work collaboratively with QA colleagues and business users to define requirements, test changes and manage safe releases.
- Share technical knowledge across the team and support the future migration and decommissioning of legacy systems.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience supporting and developing business‑critical, legacy or ERP applications.
- A strong understanding of debugging, troubleshooting and structured problem solving.
- Experience working with source control and controlled software release processes.
- Comfortable supporting integrations and investigating issues across interconnected systems.
- Able to understand and work confidently with established and complex codebases.
- Able to produce clear, concise and useful technical documentation.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with technical colleagues and business users.
- Experience with C# would be advantageous.
