Job Purpose
As HR Business Partner, you will be the people partner for our dental practices supporting practice teams while working closely with our support centre team. You will provide expert generalist HR support across the full employee lifecycle from onboarding clinical and non-clinical staff through to complex employee relations, TUPE, investigations, managing employee concerns, conflict resolution and exit management. This is a hands-on partnering role. You will play a critical role in ensuring our practices remain CQC compliant, GDC aware and operationally resilient from a people perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex and sensitive employee relations cases end-to-end, including grievances, disciplinary and non-performance ensuring UK employment law compliance
- Act as the primary HR contact for practice managers across various sites, providing pragmatic, commercially minded people advice
- Advise on cases involving GDC registered professionals (dentists, dental nurses, hygienists, therapists) and coach practice managers to manage people matters confidently and sensitively
- Translate the group people strategy into practice level plans, supporting local autonomy within group frameworks
- Use people data and practice level inputs (absence, headcount, churn) to identify trends and recommend interventions
- Support the development and embedding of a consistent onboarding experience across all practices
- Monitor employee engagement across the group, analysing survey results and working with practice managers to develop meaningful action plans
- Lead people workstreams for practice acquisitions, new site openings, and transfers driving our growth
- Support TUPE in and out processes, ensuring legal compliance and a positive experience for transferring staff
- Support the integration of newly acquired practices into our HR system, policies, and culture
- Measure the effectiveness and success of HR policies and processes in the business to ensure Dental Beauty Partners remains compliant and scalable for growth
- Drive agreed improvements in performance in line with core business principles and values
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or above (or working towards), or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or equivalent generalist HR role
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices with experience managing complex ER cases independently
- Experience working in a dental, healthcare, primary care or other regulated multi-site environment is highly desirable
- Experience managing or supporting TUPE transfers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong conflict resolution & problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyse HR metrics and provide actionable insights
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency with HR software & Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of employment laws & regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
