About Densix

Densix is redefining what’s possible in power conversion. Spun out of the University of Oxford and backed by leading investors, we are commercialising patented, ultra-high power density converter technology. Our innovations unlock smaller, more efficient, and more flexible power systems across high-growth sectors including AI compute, electric vehicles, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy. We are transitioning from breakthrough research to first product and building a world-class engineering team to make it happen. If you’re motivated by solving hard, real-world problems and want to see your designs move rapidly from concept to deployed systems, this is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and shape both the technology and the company.

The Role

As a Power Electronics Engineer at Densix, you will play a central role in translating our core IP into robust, manufacturable products. This is a hands-on, multidisciplinary position suited to engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments from architecture through to testing and customer deployment. You will work closely with a small, high-calibre team and have direct influence on technical decisions, product direction, and future IP development.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, test and validate cutting-edge power conversion systems
  • Participate in major projects in electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing fields
  • Take ownership of subsystems and contribute to overall system architecture
  • Develop and execute rigorous test plans, including validation, reliability, and compliance (e.g. EMC, thermal, lifetime testing)
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to integrate Densix technology into real-world applications
  • Contribute to the generation and protection of intellectual property
  • Stay at the forefront of developments in power electronics and related technologies

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential
  • MEng (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Demonstrable track record in technical design, simulation, and experimental validation in analogue and digital electronic systems and circuits
  • Proficiency at electronic design and PCB layout, including rapid prototyping and design iteration
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to take ownership and learn quickly
  • Desirable
  • Direct practical experience of designing, building, and testing power electronic circuits and systems
  • Experience of working on electrical systems operating above 600VDC
  • Microcontroller software experience applicable to power electronics control systems (e.g., high speed feedback systems written in bare-metal C at >10kHz loop frequency)
  • Mechanical design skills and related experience with mechanical CAD systems (Solidworks, Fusion360 etc.)
  • Exposure to compliance and certification processes (EMC, safety standards)

Why Join Densix?

  • Own meaningful work early—your contributions will directly shape our first products and future roadmap
  • Cutting-edge technology—work with patented innovations pushing the limits of power density
  • Small, focused team—collaborate closely with experienced engineers and founders
  • Real-world impact—create products that enable more efficient power systems across global industries
  • Growth opportunity—develop quickly as the company scales

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: £45,000-£55,000 (depending on experience)
  • Share options (meaningful equity participation)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Opportunity for rapid progression in a scaling deep-tech company

Final Note
