Location: Denroy Ltd, 9-11 Balloo Drive, Bangor.

Department: Toolroom.

Report to: Toolroom Lead.

Weekly paid hours: 46 hours.

Working hours: Monday-Thursday 20:00 hrs - 08:00 hrs.

Becoming an Advanced Toolroom Operator in Denroy offers the opportunity to grow in an exciting engineering environment assisting the toolroom in production activities for our biggest customers from aerospace to automotive.

Principal Activities

  • Support the Toolroom Teams management of projects
  • Run toolroom production machines in line with required timelines
  • Review stock materials to streamline production
  • Feed materials or parts to the production equipment
  • Inspect parts in line with Quality processes
  • Fix / Highlight issues that occur within CNC production
  • Adjust machine parameters to produce conforming parts
  • Communicate anomalies with the toolroom and quality teams and contribute to resolution
  • Provide technical assistance to support toolroom functions
  • Generating Standard Operating Procedures and process documentation
  • Observing and learning a wide range of engineering skills and processes to allow independent working
  • Undertake external and on the Job training to achieve practical skills to allow continuous progression
  • Ensure set safety checks are carried out
  • Learn how to maintain workshop equipment to keep in good repair
  • Support Health and Safety within the workplace
  • Ensure good housekeeping within the workplace
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations as required by the Toolroom Lead

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent articulation and general communication skills
  • Proven experience in a production area
  • Understanding of production procedures
  • Problem solving skills
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Ability to read, understand and follow Work Instructions/ SOPs and aid in creation
  • Reliably able to work unsupervised using own initiative
  • The ability to use precision measuring instruments

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of Toolroom machinery
  • Previous lifting equipment training such as pallet truck and gantry/crane
  • Competency using Microsoft packages including Teams
  • Appreciation of Engineering principles
  • Reading of 2D drawings including tolerancing
  • Ability to make corrective actions on CNC equipment to ensure quality standards are met
  • The ability to read and understand machine language including, but not limited to G-code
