Role: HGV Driver / Yards Person
Location: Croydon, CR0 4YL
Hours: 45 hours per week | 9 hours per day between 06:00 and 18:00 Monday to Friday
Salary: between £35,757.81 - £39,757.81 pa DOE
Are you a confident HGV driver with a knack for organisation and a proactive approach to getting things done? We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious HGV Driver – Yard Person to join our Aftermarket team in Croydon!
This is a hands-on role that combines vehicle transportation with yard coordination. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our vehicles are delivered safely and our yard remains clean, compliant, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport vehicles to and from customer sites with professionalism and care
- Shunt and organise vehicles in the yard to maximise space and efficiency
- Maintain a clean and safe yard environment, disposing of waste appropriately
- Support the workshop team by collecting parts and assisting with vehicle movements
- Liaise with customers and suppliers in a courteous and professional manner
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies
- Be flexible with travel and working hours, including occasional use of public transport for return journeys
- Holds a valid HGV and car driving licence (CPC preferred)
- Experienced in driving HGVs and working in a yard or vehicle movement environment
- Knowledgeable about UK driving laws, the Highway Code, and general H&S compliance
- Organised, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- A clear communicator with a customer-focused mindset
- Basic computer skills and a forklift licence are a bonus
