Role: Commercial Vehicle Workshop Manager | Contract Manager

Location: Evercreech, BA4 6NA

Hours: 40 hours per week | between 07:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: up to £50,000 pa DOE

We're looking for an experienced Contract Manager to lead the delivery of a key fleet maintenance contract in Somerset. This is an opportunity to take ownership of operational performance, customer relationships, compliance, and team leadership within a well-established and growing business.

What you’ll be doing

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the contract, ensuring vehicles are maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations and contractual requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting a workshop-based team to deliver outstanding service.
  • Driving vehicle availability, servicing, MOT compliance, and operational performance.
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing employee wellbeing, absence, training, and performance.
  • Ensuring high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
  • Monitoring costs, work in progress, parts inventory, and contract performance metrics.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop, fleet operation, or service delivery contract.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and compliance requirements.
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative capability.
  • A collaborative approach with a focus on continuous improvement and safety.
