Hours: 40 hours per week | between 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday

Salary: between ÂŁ35,193.60 - ÂŁ38,459.20 pa DOE

Are you a skilled welder with a passion for precision and a hands-on approach to problem-solving? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our Aftermarket team! This is a practical role where you’ll carry out repairs, refurbishments, and installations on a wide range of refuse collection vehicles and equipment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our vehicles are safe, compliant, and built to last.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general MIG welding and re-plating on HGVs and RCVs
  • Strip and rebuild vehicle components including body, hopper, and bin lifts
  • Prepare vehicles to DVSA and high welding standards
  • Complete all work to customer satisfaction and within agreed timescales
  • Maintain accurate records and follow company processes
  • Promote good housekeeping and safe working practices
  • Operate within company health and safety guidelines and use PPE appropriately
  • Support quality standards and raise awareness of any issues

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified in welding/fabrication (BSEN 287 coding desirable)
  • Experienced in MIG welding and medium-heavy steel fabrication (2mm–10mm)
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Skilled in building and tack welding from drawings
  • Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude and strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and physically demanding environments
  • Willing to learn new skills and travel when required
  • Experience in mechanical/hydraulic fitting and previous RCV work is a bonus
