About the Role
You will prepare and serve daily meals for residents, covering breakfast, Sunday roasts, traditional favourites and continental dishes. This is a hands-on kitchen role where quality, nutrition and individual dietary needs matter equally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare daily menus, including breakfast, Sunday roast and continental options
- Cater for individual dietary, cultural and medical requirements, including texture-modified and allergen-free meals
- Maintain food hygiene, safety and record-keeping standards in line with regulatory requirements
- Manage stock, ordering and kitchen budgets while minimising waste
- Work closely with care staff to support residents' nutrition and hydration needs
Requirements
- Proven experience as a chef, ideally in a care home, hospital or similar setting
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification, or willingness to obtain
- Sound understanding of allergens, HACCP and modified-texture diets
- Reliable and organised, with flexibility across shifts including weekends
- Enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK
