The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering organisation for an experienced FEA Engineer to support advanced composite structure analysis within a high-profile aerospace programme. This role offers full lifecycle involvement, from design and analysis through to validation and testing, with visa sponsorship available for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of composite wing structures and control surfaces
- Conduct Fatigue & Damage Tolerance (F&DT) analysis
- Carry out buckling and structural stability assessments
- Analyse joints and structural interfaces
- Support test definition, validation, and correlation activities
- Participate in design reviews (PDR/CDR) and implement technical actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (IPTs)
- Support verification & validation (V&V) and non-conformance reviews
Requirements
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Proven experience in FEA / structural analysis
- Experience working with composite materials and structures
- Strong knowledge of fatigue, damage tolerance, and buckling analysis
- Experience with tools such as Nastran, Abaqus, or ANSYS
- Experience working within engineering design review processes
Desirable
- Aerospace industry experience
- Experience with wing structures or airframe components
- Knowledge of ASTM or aerospace standards
- Experience with test correlation and validation
