About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Registered General Nurse to join Broomfield Village Care Home as our sole night nurse. This is a standalone clinical role; you'll be the most senior clinician on shift, responsible for all nursing decisions and the overall safety and well-being of residents through the night. This isn't a role for someone still building their confidence. We need a nurse who is clinically assured, operationally self-sufficient, and ready to lead from the moment they walk through the door.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the sole responsible nurse on the night shift — owning all clinical decisions independently
- Administer, monitor and evaluate individualised care plans
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records
- Provide leadership and direction to the care team on shift
- Respond to and manage clinical situations without on-site senior nursing support
- Advocate for residents and liaise with families where needed
- Escalate appropriately to on-call management when required
What We're Looking For
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC pin
- Proven experience working in a care home or similar setting — essential
- Comfortable working as a sole nurse with full clinical accountability
- Strong clinical judgement and the ability to prioritise under pressure
- Confident, self-directed, and operationally independent from day one
- Excellent communication skills with residents, families and support staff
