URGENT JOB VACANCY!!

Location: Broomfield, CM1

Job Type: Full-time | Permanent

Salary: £24.25 per hour

Shift: Night shift only

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Registered General Nurse to join Broomfield Village Care Home as our sole night nurse. This is a standalone clinical role; you'll be the most senior clinician on shift, responsible for all nursing decisions and the overall safety and well-being of residents through the night. This isn't a role for someone still building their confidence. We need a nurse who is clinically assured, operationally self-sufficient, and ready to lead from the moment they walk through the door.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the sole responsible nurse on the night shift — owning all clinical decisions independently
  • Administer, monitor and evaluate individualised care plans
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records
  • Provide leadership and direction to the care team on shift
  • Respond to and manage clinical situations without on-site senior nursing support
  • Advocate for residents and liaise with families where needed
  • Escalate appropriately to on-call management when required

What We're Looking For

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC pin
  • Proven experience working in a care home or similar setting — essential
  • Comfortable working as a sole nurse with full clinical accountability
  • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Confident, self-directed, and operationally independent from day one
  • Excellent communication skills with residents, families and support staff

Benefits

  • Company pension
  • Free and on-site parking
  • Employee and store discounts
  • Referral programme
