FUNCTION: To ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of all site plant and equipment, including developing and implementing maintenance schedules aligned with manufacturers’ servicing requirements and legal obligations under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct repair and maintenance of all site plant and equipment to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all equipment maintenance activities.
- Oversee the safe operation of onsite blasting and painting equipment.
- Assist with the commissioning of new equipment and ensure proper integration into existing systems.
- Support management in maintaining the site’s ISO certification.
- Perform scheduled PUWER assessments for all equipment, ensuring compliance with legal and operational standards.
- Implement preventative maintenance procedures to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
ACCOUNTABILITY: The Plant Fitter reports directly to the Operations Manager and collaborates closely with the Company Asset Manager to ensure all plant and equipment are maintained as per the agreed schedules and operate safely.
PROFILE:
- Proven experience as a plant mechanic/fitter in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent time-served experience is essential.
- Current knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance, including hydraulic and electrical systems. (Additional plant specific training will be given as required)
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Aware of and understand health and safety requirements.
