TITLE: Quantity Surveyor Glasgow (Industrial Services Division)
FUNCTION:
To administer the commercial function of the contract for Denholm Industrial Services on the BAE Clyde sites including onsite measurement, estimating, job costing, cost control, forecasting and administration of the contracts.
REPORTS TO: Area Director (Denholm Industrial Services)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the administration of the commercial function at Govan and Scotstoun in Glasgow, ensuring compliance with business policies / procedures and contractual obligations.
To maintain accurate and effective job cost reporting to aid efficiency improvements and cost control to assist Operations in ensuring that budgets and forecasts are achieved throughout project delivery. To administer project requirements and where applicable ensure project variations are captured, accurately costed and subsequently agreed with clients.
The following outlines the primary responsibilities and duties of this role: –
- Administer commercial function to ensure business objectives and policies are achieved and contractual obligations are met at all stages of process from receipt of contract instruction through to payment.
- Making timeous monthly applications to BAE on contracts and ensuring that the Client’s assessment/ certification is issued within the agreed Contract timescales. Following up prior to payment dates to make sure that payments are issued/ received on time.
- Administer accurate project commercial reporting to ensure that the projects financial performance is being correctly reported. Maintaining through to completion a Final Account that will record all information in a suitable document form.
- Forming and issuing in a timeous manner Weekly and Monthly progress reports, including liaising with BAE and DIS personnel to capture information relating to H&S performance, Contract Progress, levels of DIS personnel.
- Raising and submitting Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events to record change to the original programme/ tendered price into the Contract Administration portal (CEMAR).
- Identification, management and reporting of business risks and opportunities to ensure there are being managed and mitigated as appropriate

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The QS reports directly to the Area Director on a day-to-day basis and communicates with all other appropriate Stakeholders as required.
PROFILE:
The QS will have previous experience on projects carried out under the NEC 4 Form Of Contract and the obligations contained therein and work hand in hand with the rest of the project team to ensure successful overall project delivery. Be open, honest and trustworthy in their communications both internally with colleagues and externally with client.
