Reports To: Director Key Interfaces: Director, Commercial Manager, HSEQ Director, Project Managers, Quality Managers, Quality Control Inspectors, Discipline Managers (Painting, Scaffolding, Insulation, Composites, Flooring), Client Representatives, Supplier Representatives. Purpose of the Role The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of personnel, project delivery, operational performance, and budget control across BAE Portsmouth Naval Base projects. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client specifications, company procedures, and business objectives, while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional customer service to support contract retention and growth. Key Responsibilities Leadership ensuring that DIS Portsmouth Naval Base culture truly reflects the PCWD mentality. Lead by example in promoting HSEQ standards, ensuring compliance with company procedures, legislation, and industry best practice. Allocate HSEQ responsibilities, verify competency, and ensure appropriate training is provided. Conduct senior management site inspections and ensure all HSE documentation, audits, and reports remain current and effective. Ensure Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and quality hold points are developed, communicated, and implemented. Support internal and external audits and lead root cause investigations, including 8D and 5 Why processes. Ensure full compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and quality standards across all disciplines. Accountability The General Manager reports directly to the Director and is accountable for the safe, commercial, and operational performance of all assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery in line with company objectives and client expectations. works closely with all involved personnel in the management of each of the contracted project works. Ideally, the candidate should be within close proximity to Portsmouth although we would consider a travelling employee. Salary and package to be discussed at interview stage.
