Administrative Support Assistant β Fixed-Term Contract
About the Role
We are looking for an organised and dependable Administrative Support Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail to support a busy operational department.
The successful candidate will help ensure our day-to-day processes run smoothly, with responsibilities covering stock control, equipment compliance, data management, purchase orders and general administration.
Working Hours
Full-time - Monday to Friday, 7:30amβ4:00pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain accurate stock inventory records, working closely with the Storeperson to confirm current stock levels.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is correctly recorded and compliant, including carrying out checks on site.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the team.
- Accurately enter and update information within the work control system.
- Maintain records, including job cards, trackers and project information.
- Create, process and monitor purchase orders.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure goods are received within the required timescales.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively and ensure deadlines are met.
- Support the smooth and efficient running of departmental processes.
About You
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within an industrial, operational or similar working environment.
- Strong data-entry and record-management skills.
- Experience using work control systems and processing purchase orders or invoices.
- Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
- A willingness to carry out some duties within the site environment.
- Security Clearance
The successful candidate will be required to complete BPSS security clearance.
