Due to our continued success, Denholm are recruiting more experienced Industrial Blaster/Sprayers to join a major project at HMNB Devonport in Plymouth. Start dates throughout May and June.
- Bronze Painters: Basic £17.00, OT1 £22.10, OT2 £27.20 (FULL PAYE)
- Silver Painters: Basic £17.50, OT1 £22.75, OT2 £28.00 (FULL PAYE)
- Gold Painters: Basic £18.75, OT1 £24.37, OT2 £28.00
- Blaster/Sprayers: Basic £22.00, OT1 £28.00, OT2 £35.00
- Grit Recovery/Potman: Basic £18.75, OT1 £24.37, OT2 £28.00
- Lodge: £40.00 per night
This is an excellent opportunity to work on critical infrastructure within one of the UK’s largest naval dockyards. You’ll be part of a skilled and experienced team where safety, precision, and quality are paramount. The Opportunity: You will play a key role in delivering anti-corrosion protection to ferrous and non-ferrous surfaces.
Duties include:
- Mechanical surface preparation
- Abrasive blast cleaning (open and closed loop systems)
- Application of protective coating systems (including one- and two-pack epoxies)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with legal and site procedures
- Carry out surface preparation (hand, mechanical, blasting)
- Assist with blast equipment set-up
- Apply coatings via brush, roller, and spray (spray set-up knowledge advantageous)
- Understand coating systems including primers and high-build coatings
- Conduct quality control checks (DFT readings, environmental monitoring)
- Operate access equipment such as scaffolding and mobile platforms
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Strong attention to detail
- Good problem-solving ability
- Experience within coatings, blasting, or spraying
- Desirable: Previous work on nuclear or large construction sites
- Ability to follow instruction and adapt to changing priorities
- Positive team player with a professional attitude
Qualifications Required:
- Train the Painter (Bronze/Silver/Gold), OPITO, or ICATS Blasting certification
- Relevant industrial coatings/blasting experience
Security Requirements: Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain BPSS and SC Clearance to work at the dockyard. Full support will be provided throughout the clearance process.
30 days annual leave. Overtime and weekend work will be required depending on business needs.
