Industrial/Marine Electricians Required – Glasgow ⚡ Denholm Industrial Services are recruiting experienced Industrial/Marine Electricians to join us as core employees and support our long-term project in Glasgow. 📍 Location: Glasgow 📅 Initial Duration: Ongoing 🕖 Standard Hours: Monday to Thursday, 07:00–16:30 ⏱️ Basic Working Week: 37 hours There will be the opportunity to work an 11-day pattern followed by a weekend off, although this is optional and individuals can choose whether they wish to work the additional overtime. The scope of work will include: Cable pulling and installation Cable containment installation Electrical equipment installation Cable terminations Check wiring and testing Pay Rates Normal Time: £22.15 per hour Overtime Rate 1: £33.23 per hour Overtime Rate 2: £44.30 per hour Combined Travel and Lodge Allowance: Up to £768.92 per 11-day rotation The combined allowance is based on £51.72 per working day for travel and £100 per week for lodge. What You’ll Be Doing Working as part of a skilled shipbuilding team, your responsibilities will include: Installing multi-core, single-core and coaxial cables. Cable pulling, routing and cable management. Installing cable containment systems. Installing junction boxes, fuse panels, consoles, transformers and switches. Mounting and earthing electrical equipment. Completing cable terminations to the required trade standards. Undertaking check wiring, electrical testing and fault finding. Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, trade drawings and technical instructions. Working alongside other shipbuilding trades to support the timely completion of electrical installations. Ensuring all work complies with the required safety, quality and technical standards. Qualifications and Experience Applicants must: Have completed a recognised Modern Apprenticeship, SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical trade qualification. Provide their apprenticeship and trade papers when submitting an application. Hold a valid SJIB card. Have previous experience in marine electrical installations or a major industrial environment. Be able to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation. Understand electrical isolation, tag-out and safe proving-dead procedures. Be familiar with risk assessments, PUWER, COSHH and safe systems of work. Have the right to work in the UK. Security Clearance Successful applicants will be required to complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks and may need to obtain a higher level of National Security Vetting, depending on the role. The clearance process can take approximately 30 days. Full guidance will be provided regarding the information and documentation required. Security and export-control restrictions may apply. An applicant’s nationality, previous nationalities, place of birth and UK residency history may affect their eligibility for certain roles. Higher levels of vetting will typically require evidence of continuous UK residency. Where DIS employs an electrician introduced through a recruitment agency on a permanent basis, any applicable agency finder’s fee will be managed separately between DIS and the recruitment agency.
