Working within the Freight Forwarding division of 3PL provider Denholm Good Logistics, as part of a team dealing with completion of all global Forwarding operations, procedures and maintaining clear business records within the companies group system.
The role will form part of the London Gateway Forwarding team within Denholm Good Logistics.
Being responsible for all Import and Export operation requirements for the dept’s agents, customers and suppliers.
To follow managements direction, instructions and guidance.
To support and cover colleagues within the dept and office where required.
Working within the London Gateway Forwarding Team reporting into the Branch Manager.
- Assisting Internal Departments across the DGL Group.
- Working with suppliers and customers to a professional manner as expected at all times.
- The Day-to-Day
- Carry out booking procedures accurately, with a ‘right first time’ attitude, to ensure customers receive a high-quality service
- General Operational Duties (Processing bookings, Invoicing etc)
- Develop ability to handle Import and Export operations
- Completion of Profit & Loss / Invoicing for Operational files in a timely manner
- Dealing with / resolving Invoice Queries, particularly with Suppliers such as Shipping Lines
- Involvement with the DMR Purchase Invoice system as required
- Liaison with Clients & Suppliers via e-mail, telephone for operational related matters
- Provide holiday cover within the Operational Department as appropriate
- Other operational duties as required by the Operations Manager
- Cargowise One E-Learning (Work towards CW1 Accreditation (such as CCO – Cargowise Certified Operator)
- Set up and maintain clear business records and a customer client base in order that they are accessible to all members of staff
- Attend regular Team meetings AEO All duties to be undertaken with reference to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) procedures and work instructions.
- The Person
- IT literacy with a good working knowledge of a variety of software applications, including Microsoft Office
- Good understanding of basic freight forwarding procedures is essential
- Accurate and basic Maths and English skills is essential
- CW1 knowledge would be ideal but not essential
- A can do, enthusiastic and positive attitude is essential
- Confident communicator with good organisational skills is essential
