We\’ve partnered with the lovely team at Royal Company of Merchants again on a newly created role for the team – Venue Events Sales Manager. Part of a genuinely brilliant small but dynamic team, we\’re looking for someone who can come in and make their mark and contribute to their continued success.
With your background in sales and knowledge of Edinburgh, you\’ll be developing and implementing strategies to attract a range of events to the stunning Merchant\’s Hall and wider events across the Royal Company of Merchants of Edinburgh.
This is a full-time, permanent role based from their lovely Edinburgh city centre office. Whilst it\’s a role within hospitality, you\’ll be working traditional working hours of 9-5pm with a little flexibility required.
What we\’re looking for:
- Proven experience in event sales, hospitality or a related industry
- Self-starter with a driven personality – this is a real chance to make an impact in the role
- Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Used to working your way through a CRM
- Creative flair with a passion for delivering memorable event experiences
What you\’ll be doing:
- Developing sales strategies to attract a range of events – corporate events, weddings, private parties, membership parties and other special occasions
- Proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities – utilising network and partnerships
- Managing the entire sales cycle from initial enquiry and site visits to contract negotiation and finalising event details
- Supporting in the launch of a new CRM/database to track and manage leads
- Collaborating with catering event partners
- Working closely with team on ad-hoc projects
