We are working with a well-established organisation in Edinburgh to appoint a Learning & Development Adviser to play a key role in building capability, performance, and confidence across the business. This is a hands-on, high-impact L&D role for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, working with managers, and seeing the direct results of their work. You won’t be sitting behind a desk designing theory-based programmes. You’ll be embedded in the business, shaping how people learn, develop, and deliver for customers.
The Role
- Lead training needs analysis across operational and corporate teams
- Design and deliver high-quality learning programmes, both classroom and blended
- Own and continuously improve induction and onboarding
- Support managers to develop their people through coaching and capability frameworks
- Deliver customer service, systems, and soft skills training
- Work closely with external training partners
- Measure training effectiveness and report on ROI
- Maintain accurate learning records and governance standards
- Adapt programmes based on feedback and performance data
This role is primarily on-site to ensure strong relationships and real business impact, with some flexibility built in where operationally possible.
About You
You’ll be an experienced L&D professional who enjoys combining delivery, design, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in a training or learning & development role
- Strong classroom and facilitation skills
- A coaching mindset with excellent communication ability
- Experience working in operational, customer, or service-led environments
- Confidence using systems and digital tools to support learning
- The ability to influence managers and challenge constructively
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- Experience in regulated, contact centre, utilities, or customer service environments is highly desirable, but not essential.
