A well-established Scottish wholesaler serving independent convenience retailers and symbol stores is looking for an experienced, hands-on marketer to take full ownership of its marketing activity. The business supplies a wide range of FMCG products, promotions and services, working closely with suppliers and retail partners to deliver competitive pricing, compelling promotional programmes and high levels of service, both in depot and through a growing online ordering platform.

This role is an opportunity to step into a broad, end-to-end marketing position with real responsibility and influence. You will lead trade marketing activity, shape how promotions are communicated to customers, manage supplier-led campaigns and play a key role in driving awareness and adoption of digital tools. It is ideally suited to a confident generalist who enjoys variety, autonomy and being close to the commercial heartbeat of the business, rather than operating within a narrow marketing remit.

You will plan and deliver trade marketing campaigns that support supplier activity, promotions and seasonal events, ensuring they are commercially focused and relevant to independent retailers. The role involves creating a wide range of printed and digital promotional materials, including flyers, POS, posters and digital content, as well as managing the content calendar for customer communications, social media and email updates.

You will work directly with suppliers on joint campaigns, funded activity and co-branded promotions, while also supporting the launch and ongoing use of the online ordering platform through targeted and engaging communications. Maintaining brand consistency across all customer and supplier touchpoints will be a core part of the role, alongside producing content that resonates with independent convenience retailers and reflects how they operate commercially.

You will track campaign performance and customer engagement, using insight to refine future activity, manage marketing budgets to ensure strong commercial alignment, and support the sales team with presentations, pitch decks and promotional materials.

You will succeed in this position if you are proactive, commercially minded and comfortable working independently. You should be confident managing campaigns from concept through to delivery, creating your own marketing materials, and building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal teams. This role suits someone who enjoys taking ownership, making decisions and seeing the direct impact of their work on sales and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate will have around three to six years’ marketing experience, ideally within FMCG, wholesale, convenience retail or a similar trade-focused environment. You will be a hands-on, generalist marketer with strong written communication skills and experience creating content for trade audiences.
