Denholm Associates are delighted to be engaged with our digital agency partners to find their next great hire. We are looking for an experienced Email Design & Developer who breathes life into email campaigns through expert HTML & CSS coding. This is a permanent hybrid opportunity for an Edinburgh based client. This opportunity will offer excellent flexibility for the right candidate on how often you attend the office.

This role would suit someone with strong coding skills, who can also collaborate and contribute with the wider account campaign team around improvements and innovation in this space. The team currently have c25-30 email campaigns monthly for their key Scottish client with each template being developed from scratch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, test, and deploy email campaigns using Adestra (or similar email service provider).
  • Leverage advanced HTML and CSS expertise to develop sophisticated, responsive email templates that deliver consistently across multiple platforms and devices.
  • Manage audience segmentation, personalisation, and dynamic content to enhance engagement.
  • Ensure email templates are responsive, accessible, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Conduct A/B testing to optimise email performance.
  • Monitor deliverability, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage suppression lists.
  • Collaborate with art directors, copywriters, and account teams to ensure campaigns meet strategic objectives.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proficiency in Adestra (or similar ESPs), with a strong understanding of email workflows, automation, and data management.
  • Email coding - with good knowledge and understanding of using tables to build emails.
  • HTML, CSS and Media Queries skills for email template customisation.
  • Understand the differences between coding for web and coding for email.
  • Experience with segmentation, personalisation, and A/B testing.
