Role Description The Production Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Honiton. The role involves operating and monitoring production machinery, setting up equipment, and supporting efficient running of production lines. Daily tasks include following standard operating procedures, carrying out basic equipment checks, and reporting any issues to supervisors to minimize downtime. The Production Operator helps maintain product quality by performing visual checks, accurate weighing, and correct packaging, while adhering to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards. The role also requires clear communication with colleagues, completion of production records, and participation in ongoing training to support continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate and monitor machinery, with experience in Machine Operation and working on Production Lines.
- Awareness of Quality Control procedures, with a focus on maintaining product consistency and food safety standards.
- Strong Communication skills for coordinating with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Willingness to participate in Training activities and to support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading instructions, recording data, and following production documentation.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, food hygiene and health and safety regulations relevant to food manufacturing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment, with reliability and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in food production or manufacturing is beneficial but not essential; full training can be provided.
