We have an exciting opening for a Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our first‑class team of TAs who work with our teaching staff to raise the learning and attainment of students by providing them with assistance so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and reach their maximum potential.
Whilst previous experience of working in a secondary school setting is advantageous, it is not essential, as full training will be provided. The role may be of interest, but not limited, to graduates with an interest in pursuing a career in teaching as it allows the opportunity to build classroom experience before beginning a teacher‑training course.
The ideal candidate must be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with students and be able to adapt to their individual needs to support their learning. They must also be able to demonstrate positive attitudes, values and behaviours to develop and sustain effective relationships within the school community and have professional regard for the school’s CHARACTER values and ethos.
Staff who opt into the Local Government Pension Scheme will receive a generous employer contribution equivalent to 22.6% of salary. In addition, we offer free on‑site parking, a bike‑to‑work scheme, a subsidised canteen, free eye tests, an employee assistance scheme and annual flu vaccinations.
This role includes regulated activity in relation to children and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exemptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
