Following the rebranding and relocation to a new headquarters near Bury St. Edmunds, Denbury Homes are looking to build the team and employ an Architectural Technician / Technical Coordinator.

Responsible To: Technical Manager

Scope of Work:

  • Produce working drawing packages
  • Produce and co-ordinate the required information to suit necessary deadlines as instructed by the Technical Manager
  • Liaise with, advise and support other departments on technical matters
  • Ensure that all information is available to the Construction and other relevant departments in accordance with the project programme by coordination with the Technical Administrator
  • Liaise with consultants, suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the preparation of technical support information

Candidate Requirements:

  • Good technical knowledge of building construction
  • At least four years relevant experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of the latest Building Regulations, NHBC and associated legislation connected with the construction industry
  • Team player with communication skills for dealing with multi-disciplined teams
  • The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and efficient manner
  • Self-motivated and well organised
  • Sound knowledge and experience of AutoCAD
  • Previous residential housing experience at either developer or private practice

Job Responsibilities:

  • The production of the technical package, including:
    • CAD versions of site layouts
    • House types – standard and bespoke
    • External works plan
    • Conveyance plan
    • Schedules
    • Specifications (Construction, Finishing and Social Housing)
    • Construction Area drawings as required (e.g. compound)
  • Procure, check and co-ordinate:
    • Soft Landscaping Designs
    • Heating and Plumbing Layouts
    • Structural calculations/mark ups
  • Check and co-ordinate all information prepared by suppliers and manufacturers to ensure compatibility with house type drawings
  • Ensure co-ordination with Engineering and Utility Information
  • Ensure that all drawings/details meet with Local Authority/NHBC requirements
  • Ensure all drawings are recorded on the drawing register and issued to relevant departments via Technical Administrator
  • Preparation of Building Regulation/NHBC applications
  • Manage and ensure prompt clearance of building control conditions
  • Provide information and assist in the clearance of planning conditions
  • Attend internal and external meetings regarding construction and technical matters and co-ordinating the preparation of the information required as a result
  • Ensure that up to date legislation and requirements are included on the drawings and implemented on site as necessary
  • Attend site meetings as and when required
  • General liaison and co-ordination between other parties, both internal and external
  • Respond to site queries and resolve technical/construction issues
  • Instruct, obtain, and ensure drawing/specification co-ordination with SAP
