Personal assistant required funded through a direct payment, to enable an eight-year-old male to safely access community activities, develop social skills and improve his own hazard awareness while out in the community.
We are looking for a Personal Assistant to support our active, fun loving eight-year-old son. Our son has a diagnosis of autism and requires supervision to access the community and activities safely.
He is a very active child and enjoys riding his bike, soft play, swimming, walks at the beach, and playing in the park. We are looking for an individual to support our son to access some of these activities and help maintain his safety while doing so.
Main Duties
To support the individual β¦
- To access community based activities such as swimming, going to the beach, soft play etc
- To remain safe while out in the community and to support them to develop their own safety awareness (road safety etc.)
- To develop social skills in the community.
Essential skills/experience
- Experience of working with children
Desirable skills/experience
- Experience of working with children with disabilities (Autism).
- Understanding or experience of using PEC
