The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

To provide general and comprehensive advice, assistance and legal representation to the Council, particularly to Social Services (Children), with emphasis on matters pertaining to the Children Act 1989, Deprivation of Liberty in Domestic and Care settings, Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, as well as proceedings under the Adoption and Children Act 2002. To ensure compliance with all requisite legal proceedings and the fulfilment of statutory functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, assistance and legal representation to the Council, particularly to Social Services (Children), on the specified Acts and related proceedings.
  • Ensure compliance with all requisite legal proceedings and the fulfilment of statutory functions.
  • Work alongside a collegiate and supportive team; possess excellent communication skills and be motivated to support the Local Authority in the above areas across a wide range of cases.
  • Recognise that Local Authority experience is an advantage but not an essential requirement.
  • Engage in training and development in areas where the successful candidate may have less experience.

Working Arrangements and Benefits

The Council has a flexible working policy and generous leave allowance of 26 days leave plus bank holidays, moving up to a maximum of 32 days leave plus bank holidays. In addition, there is a flexi leave/toil allowance and paid professional fees.
