Responsibilities
- Conducting detailed property inspections using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- Identifying hazards and taking appropriate enforcement action
- Preparing and serving statutory notices and schedules of work
- Contributing to the delivery of both Mandatory and Additional HMO licensing schemes
- Working within other disciplines of environmental health, such as housing enforcement, public health, food safety and health and safety, using enforcement action as necessary
Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified Environmental Health Officers with relevant experience
- Candidates with transferable skills seeking a career change
- Graduates and students looking to begin a career in Environmental Health
- Prior knowledge of HMO licensing and enforcement processes is advantageous for experienced candidates
- Will undertake and commit to the MSc or BSc Environmental Health course commencing this autumn to become a CIEH‑registered Environmental Health Officer

As part of the dynamic Housing & Pollution Team within Public Protection, you will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing housing conditions across the county, working collaboratively with key partners such as Rent Smart Wales, Fire and Police Authorities to ensure safe, healthy living environments for residents.
