You will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing housing conditions across the county. Working collaboratively with key partners such as Rent Smart Wales, Fire and Police Authorities, you will help ensure safe, healthy living environments for residents.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed property inspections using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- Identify hazards and take appropriate enforcement action
- Prepare and serve statutory notices and schedules of work
- Contribute to the delivery of both Mandatory and Additional HMO licensing schemes
- Work within other disciplines of environmental health (housing enforcement, public health, food safety, and health and safety), using enforcement action as necessary
Qualifications
- Fully qualified Environmental Health Officers with relevant experience
- Candidates with transferable skills seeking a career change

For experienced candidates, prior knowledge of HMO licensing and enforcement processes will be advantageous. For those starting out, we offer a fully supported pathway to qualification, including sponsorship of both academic and practical training. Applicants will be required to enrol on and commit to either the MSc or BSc Environmental Health course commencing this autumn.
