Denbies Wine Estate is a family business and one of England’s largest vineyards in the UK, currently recruiting for an experienced and knowledgeable Retail Buyer and Visual Merchandiser to join our Wine & Gift Shop Team. Our mission is to deliver exceptional products and customer value by staying ahead of trends and anticipating what our customers will love next.
Role Overview: As our Retail Buyer/Visual Merchandiser, you’ll be the bridge between trend forecasting and sales strategy. You’ll be responsible for selecting and sourcing products that align with our brand identity, while also designing compelling visual displays that enhance the customer journey and drive revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify customer trends and source new products accordingly.
- Build relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, and manage stock levels.
- Analyse sales data and KPIs to identify trends and areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to plan seasonal and promotional campaigns.
- Attend trade fairs.
- Visual Merchandising: Create eye-catching window and in-store displays that reflect the brand aesthetic.
- Ensure consistent visual standards across all locations.
- Implement floor plans and layout strategies to optimize product visibility.
- Monitor and adapt displays in response to sales performance and trends.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as a retail buyer and/or visual merchandiser.
- Strong eye for design, colour, and style.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in trend forecasting and data analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with inventory management and EPOS System.
- Passion for retail and a keen understanding of consumer behaviour.
This is a Full-Time role working 5 days out of 7, including occasional weekends and bank holidays. All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
