I have a fantastic opportunity for a military-trained mechanical engineer based in or around Luton, Oxford, Gloucestershire, Reading, or Guildford who is looking to transition into a career as an Engineer Surveyor. My client has a strong track record of employing ex-military engineers, with many of their current team coming from Royal Navy, British Army, and RAF backgrounds. The successful Engineer Surveyor will join a well-established nationwide business, carrying out inspections, examinations, and surveys on a range of engineering equipment, including cranes, lifting equipment, and pressurised systems. This is a Monday to Friday role with occasional overnight stays. In return, you will receive a competitive salary, company vehicle, and a full benefits package, along with ongoing training and development.
Engineer Surveyor Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven mechanical engineering background
- Willingness to learn new engineering disciplines
- Experience with cranes or lifting equipment (advantageous, not essential)
- Strong communication skills (customer-facing role)
- Flexible approach to travel
- Full UK driving licence
