We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is looking for a Military Plant Engineer to join their team based in Larkhill. This is a great opportunity for candidates from military or commercial engineering backgrounds looking for a stable, long term role supporting equipment and plant machinery across military environments. The role is mainly workshop based with regular overtime available.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of plant equipment and mechanical handling equipment.
  • Fault finding, servicing and repairs on plant and associated equipment.
  • Carrying out inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Supporting equipment handovers and exchanges.
  • Working safely in line with current health and safety standards.
  • Supporting operational teams with technical advice where required.

What we’re looking for

  • Mechanical engineering experience.
  • Experience working on plant equipment, mechanical handling equipment or similar machinery.
  • NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong fault finding and repair skills.
  • Military engineering backgrounds are highly encouraged to apply.

This role would suit candidates from REME, Royal Engineers, Royal Navy Marine Engineering or RAF Mechanical Engineering backgrounds. Plant Fitters, Forklift Engineers, Mechanical Handling Equipment Engineers, Crane Engineers, Construction Plant Engineers or candidates with experience maintaining heavy mechanical or plant equipment are encouraged to apply.
