My client is seeking a skilled and motivated GSE Technician to join their workshop team at London Heathrow Airport on a day shift, 4 on / 4 off rota. This role would suit an experienced engineer from a commercial or ex-military background who is looking to work within a safety-critical aviation environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repair of a wide range of powered Ground Support Equipment (GSE), supporting airside operations during core daytime activity.
GSE Technician Responsibilities:- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of powered GSE, including tugs, loaders, belt loaders and other airside equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
- Complete inspections, brake tests and safety checks in line with regulatory requirements
- Accurately complete job cards and inspection reports using electronic systems/tablets
- Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor regarding additional work, defects or parts required
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, Safe Systems of Work and ISO standards
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop and airside areas
- Previous experience maintaining vehicles, plant machinery or Ground Support Equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge (electrical and hydraulic experience desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good awareness of health & safety within a safety-critical environment
- Confident using tablets or electronic job systems
- Forklift licence desirable
- Must be able to obtain airside security clearance
- Full UK driving licence required
- Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
