Due to continued growth and expansion, my client, a leading manufacturer of industrial machinery, has a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer to join their team at their site in Basingstoke. This is a field-based role which will require the successful candidate to travel within the UK and overseas. The successful Field Service Engineer will travel to customer sites and carry out the installation, commissioning, service, maintenance, and repairs of the company’s range of equipment. This is an exciting position for somebody who enjoys travelling and staying away from home. The role offers the opportunity to learn a vast range of skills and gain additional qualifications/certifications. You will work with niche technology where every job is different, and no two days are the same. You will undergo full product training at the company HQ in Basingstoke.

Field Service Engineer Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be required to travel worldwide which will involve frequent overnight stays to locations such as Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, France, and any other locations required by the customer.
  • Carry out onsite installations, commissioning, service, and maintenance of the company products.
  • Attend breakdowns and fault find by stripping down machines to component level.
  • Identifying faults and repairing a wide variety of electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment.
  • You will also be required to use a wide variety of testing equipment like oscilloscopes.
  • Work from HQ and provide remote support to customers.

Field Service Engineer Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum of Level 3 in electrical/electronic engineering and have demonstrable experience within a ‘hands-on’ engineering role.
  • Mechanical skills.
  • You must be flexible as the majority of the work is performed overseas.
  • Familiar with test equipment.
  • Hold a full driving licence.

Field Service Engineer Benefits:

  • £40,000 basic salary.
  • Car allowance - £4,800 per annum plus mileage allowance.
  • Monday to Friday – 40 hours.
