My client is seeking a capable and self-motivated GSE Technician to join their workshop team at London Heathrow Airport on a night shift, 4 on / 4 off rota. This role would suit an experienced engineer who is comfortable working independently and supporting critical overnight airside operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring powered Ground Support Equipment (GSE) is maintained and serviceable to support the following day's flight operations.

GSE Technician Responsibilities:
  • Carry out inspection, maintenance and repair of powered GSE during overnight operations
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and complete repairs efficiently
  • Perform safety checks, inspections and brake tests in line with company procedures
  • Accurately complete job cards and inspection reports using electronic systems/tablets
  • Escalate defects, VOR equipment or parts requirements to the Workshop Supervisor
  • Work safely and independently within a safety-critical airside environment
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations, Safe Systems of Work and ISO standards
GSE Technician Requirements:
  • Previous experience maintaining vehicles, plant machinery or Ground Support Equipment
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Electrical and hydraulic experience desirable
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently during night shifts
  • Good health & safety awareness
  • Confident using electronic job systems or tablets
  • Forklift licence desirable
  • Must be able to obtain airside security clearance
  • Full UK driving licence required
