We are supporting an independent inspection company who deliver high quality statutory LOLER examinations of lifts through strong engineering expertise, attention to detail and clear communication with customers. They now have an immediate requirement for an Engineer Surveyor to join their growing business. This is a home based or office based role depending on location, and the successful candidate will travel to customer sites across Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset with some occasional travel to Greater London, Kent, Home Counties, M4 Corridor and Devon.
Candidates living in or close to the following locations are of particular interest: Poole, Bournemouth, Southampton, Winchester, Salisbury, Blandford, Basingstoke, Fareham, Portsmouth, Yeovil and Bovington.
This is a fantastic long term career opportunity, offering full training, industry recognised qualifications and the opportunity to become a competent Lift Engineer Surveyor. This is an autonomous role where you will manage your own diary, represent the business at customer sites and build a career within a specialist inspection environment. Ex military engineers are strongly encouraged to apply.
Engineer Surveyor Responsibilities:- Carry out statutory LOLER examinations of lifts at customer sites.
- Assess the condition, safety and continued use of lifting equipment in line with relevant regulations and standards.
- Produce accurate, clear and well structured examination reports and documentation.
- Travel regularly across Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset with occasional travel further afield.
- Mechanical engineering experience within an inspection, maintenance, service, repair or fault finding environment.
- Lift experience is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Self motivated with a can do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working in a client facing role.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high quality reports.
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload without close supervision.
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to stay away overnight occasionally, on average 1 to 2 nights every two weeks.
- Salary negotiable depending on experience.
- Monday to Friday 40 hours per week with flexibility required.

This role would suit mechanically biased engineers from an ex military background including but not limited to: REME Vehicle Mechanics, Royal Engineers Plant Mechanics, Royal Navy Marine Engineers, Fleet Air Arm Aircraft Technicians, Royal Air Force Aircraft Technicians and Royal Air Force General Technicians. Candidates with a strong civilian mechanical engineering background with lift experience are also encouraged to apply.
