Location: Doddington, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £45,000 rising to £47,500 after probation.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday days, with a 1 in 4 on-call rota.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically biased engineer with strong mechanical engineering capabilities who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and hands-on maintenance. The role offers a varied workload and the opportunity to become a key member of the site's engineering function.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site plant and equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and carry out effective fault finding and repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Work on three-phase electrical systems and associated controls.
  • Carry out PLC fault finding activities.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately record maintenance activities and follow company procedures.
  • Participate in a 1 in 4 on-call rota.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Maintenance or similar.
  • Electrical bias with strong mechanical engineering capabilities.
  • Experience working with three-phase electrical systems.
  • PLC fault-finding experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • SCADA experience desirable.
  • IOSH qualification desirable.
  • Forklift licence beneficial.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible approach to participating in the on-call rota.
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
