Our supporters make our work possible. As a Supporter Care Officer, you’ll be one of their first points of contact with Dementia UK, providing a warm, helpful and professional service by phone, email and post.

You’ll respond to a wide range of enquiries, thank supporters for their donations and help resolve queries and complaints. You’ll build your knowledge of Dementia UK so you can confidently answer questions or connect supporters with the right team, always making sure they feel listened to and valued.

Alongside speaking with supporters, you’ll process donations and maintain accurate information on our fundraising database. There are established processes to follow, so you’ll need excellent attention to detail and be comfortable handling sensitive information securely.

You’ll be an excellent communicator with a confident and professional telephone manner, as well as the compassion and interpersonal skills to build rapport with people from a wide range of backgrounds. You’ll also be comfortable handling more challenging conversations, resolving problems where you can and knowing when something needs to be escalated.

This is a busy and varied role, so you’ll need to be organised, adaptable and comfortable switching between different tasks throughout the day. You’ll enjoy working as part of a close-knit team where colleagues support one another to meet shared service standards and give our supporters the best possible experience.

This is a hybrid role and you’ll be required to work from our office for a minimum of two fixed days each week. Some responsibilities can only be carried out in the office, so you’ll need to be able to meet this requirement.
