Demelza Kent is looking for an experienced Cook / Chef to join our Bank Staff Team. This role involves running the kitchen when required, working alongside staff and volunteers, and preparing high-quality, home-cooked meals that provide comfort and care to children, families, employees, volunteers and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious, comforting meals with a focus on quality, consistency and safety.
- Cook and present meals that meet a variety of dietary requirements (special diet knowledge desirable).
- Maintain a calm, well-organised kitchen environment and work flexibly as part of a dedicated team.
- Provide meals and snacks for children, families, staff, volunteers and visitors as needed.
- Complete and maintain all required kitchen documentation and food safety records.
Pay & Hours:
- Weekday rate: £12.60 per hour
- Weekend and Bank Holiday enhancements apply
- Hours: Ad hoc, based on the needs of the kitchen
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience running or managing a kitchen
- Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or higher)
Desirable:
- Experience working in a hospice, care home or hospital setting
- Knowledge of religious, cultural and allergy-related dietary needs
- Experience working alongside volunteers
Full training will be provided. A DBS check is required for this role. This role may involve lone working.
