About us

De Mellier is a London-based brand that was founded with the vision of doing things differently: to design handbags that would make women feel empowered, made ethically and sustainably, while giving back to those who need it most.

These principles guide everything we do.

All our pieces are crafted ethically in Europe using the finest sustainably sourced materials.

We champion equality, and for every piece sold, we fund vaccines and medical treatments aimed to save the life of a child in need.

So far, through our permanent charity initiative, 'A Bag, A Life', in partnership with SOS Children's Villages, we have funded over 2.5 million vaccines.

Join us and be part of an award‑winning, purpose‑driven brand that fosters creativity, collaboration, and meaningful impact within the luxury industry.

The role

As a Sales Advisor, you will be a passionate brand ambassador, delivering an elevated and personalised client experience that reflects De Mellier’s values and commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.

You will build genuine, lasting relationships with clients, creating memorable experiences and bringing the story behind each De Mellier piece to life through meaningful storytelling, product expertise, and a deep understanding of the brand’s purpose.

Success in this role is measured not only by sales performance but by your ability to cultivate a loyal client community, inspire repeat engagement, and contribute positively to a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.

  • Capture and maintain accurate client information within CRM systems.
  • Brand Storytelling & Product Expertise
  • Become an expert in the De Mellier brand story, craftsmanship, materials, sustainability commitments and charitable initiatives.
  • Bring products to life through authentic storytelling rather than transactional selling.
  • Confidently communicate the design inspiration, functionality and craftsmanship behind each collection.
  • Stay informed on new launches, seasonal collections and key business priorities.
  • Represent the brand consistently through appearance, communication and behaviour.
  • Commercial Performance
  • Achieve commercial success by consistently achieving and exceeding individual sales targets and key performance indicators, building lasting client relationships that support long‑term brand loyalty and growth.
  • Drive performance across: Conversion Rate, Average Transaction Value (ATV), Units Per Transaction (UPT), CRM Capture and Repeat Purchase Rate
  • Identify opportunities to maximise sales through thoughtful product recommendations and styling solutions.
  • Use commercial awareness and client insights to contribute to business growth.
  • Take ownership of personal performance and actively seek opportunities to improve results.
  • Team & Store
  • Support the smooth day‑to‑day operation of the store.

How to prepare for a job interview at DeMellier

✨Show Off Your Customer Service Skills

Retail is all about providing an exceptional customer experience, so be ready to discuss your past customer service stories. We should have examples on hand of how we've handled difficult situations or gone above and beyond to meet a customer's needs. These anecdotes will bring your application to life!

✨Familiarity with Point of Sale Systems

Many retail roles require us to work with Point of Sale (POS) systems, so it's a good idea to brush up on any relevant software you’ve used before. If you’re familiar with systems like Shopify or Square, don’t forget to mention this during the interview. Highlighting technical proficiency can set us apart from other candidates!

✨Understand Product Knowledge

Be prepared to discuss the products that the store sells and how we can contribute to their sales. Showing enthusiasm for the products and a willingness to learn can impress interviewers. We should research popular items or trends in the industry before the interview, so we can speak confidently about them.

✨Be Ready for Role-Playing Scenarios

Many retail interviews include role-playing scenarios where we might have to deal with a difficult customer or upsell a product. Practising these scenarios with a friend or family member can help us feel more comfortable. The key here is to showcase our problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure!
