The role The Production Stock Controller will sit within the Production team and will be responsible for maintaining accurate raw material and production stock visibility across DeMellier’s factory network. The role will support the correct recording of raw material stock movements in the ERP system, stock housekeeping, transfers, work order stock impact, factory stock reconciliation and month‑end stock monitoring required by Finance and Operations. This role is key to improving system discipline, stock management, supporting stock valuation readiness and ensuring the Production team has reliable stock data across multiple seasons, factories and material categories.
Responsibilities
- Production stock management & system housekeeping: Maintain accurate production stock visibility by season, factory, supplier and raw material category. Keep internal stock trackers updated and aligned with ERP records where applicable. Monitor open stock movements, pending transactions, unresolved stock discrepancies and system housekeeping actions. Support the Production team with clear visibility of raw materials available, issued, transferred, rejected, faulty, leftover or pending reconciliation.
- Raw materials stock control: Track leather, hardware, trims, packaging and other raw materials from PO placement through to factory receipt and seasonal closing stock. Monitor opening stock, new deliveries, transfers, usage, over‑consumption, under‑consumption, free‑of‑charge materials and remaining stock. Investigate and escalate discrepancies between supplier documents, factory confirmations, Production trackers and ERP system records.
- Stock book‑ins, transfers & documentation: Support the creation, completion and follow‑up of goods received vouchers in the ERP system based on supplier invoices, packing lists and shipment information. Check quantities, part numbers, warehouses, seasons, values and factory destinations before stock movements are completed. Prepare or support stock transfers between warehouses, factories and seasons where required. Support commercial invoices and shipping voucher information linked to stock transfers and raw material movements. Maintain a clear tracker of completed, pending and blocked goods received vouchers or transfers.
- Purchase Orders, Product BOM management: Support Production in checking the stock impact of Orders, BOMs and RM consumptions processes. Review Missing Issues and negative stock reports, identifying root causes and required corrective actions. Flag incorrect BOMs, incorrect consumptions, stockable/non‑stockable setup issues or material shortages affecting work orders. Coordinate with Production, Industrialisation, Finance, Operations and ERP support to resolve stock blockers.
- Stock monitoring & reconciliation: Keep monthly Production stock readiness summaries. Review pending transfers, missing Issues, negative stock and unreconciled factory stock ahead of month‑end. Support with stock valuation readiness by ensuring Production stock data is accurate and traceable. Highlight stock risks, unresolved variances and required actions by factory, warehouse, season or material category. Support agreed physical stock counts, quarterly stock taking and monitoring routines where required. Reconcile factory‑declared stock against internal trackers & system, follow up stock discrepancies with factories and maintain a clear audit trail of explanations and corrective actions. Track rejected, faulty, leftover and excess raw materials by factory and season.
- Process control & continuous improvement: Support SOP creation and process improvement to reduce manual duplication, improve data accuracy and strengthen system discipline. Document recurring ERP system issues, manual workarounds and ownership gaps between Production, Finance and Operations.
Requirements
- Experience: 3‑5 years of experience in stock control, inventory coordination, production administration or supply chain operations, preferably in fashion, accessories or leather goods. A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Production Management, Supply Chain, Finance Operations or a related field is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large trackers, reconciliations and high volumes of data entry.
- Experience using ERP & PLM systems; Priority ERP system experience would be highly beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when working at pace and close to month‑end deadlines.
- Analytical and structured approach, with the ability to reconcile information across multiple sources.
- Good communication skills, able to follow up clearly with Production, Finance, Operations, suppliers and factories.
- Independent and organised way of working, able to prioritise critical deadlines and elevate blockers quickly.
- Positive attitude, strong team player and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Spoken Spanish or Italian would be a plus.
