DeMellier is opening its first physical store on Sloane Square in September 2026 and we are looking for an exceptional Stock Controller to be part of the team that opens it. The Stock Controller will be responsible for ensuring accurate stock management and seamless product flow within the flagship store. This role is critical in maintaining inventory integrity, supporting the sales team, and delivering an exceptional client experience through efficient back‑of‑house operations.
- Stock Control & Inventory Accuracy
- Maintain accurate stock levels within the store, ensuring alignment between physical and system inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Manage stock adjustments and ensure all movements are correctly recorded in the system.
- Ensure compliance with all stock control procedures and audit requirements.
- Deliveries & Stock Movement
- Manage all inbound deliveries, ensuring timely receipt, checking, and booking of stock.
- Organise stockroom efficiently, maintaining clear categorisation and accessibility.
- Replenish the shop floor to ensure optimal product availability at all times.
- Coordinate transfers between stores, warehouse, and other channels as required.
- Store Operations Support
- Support the sales team by ensuring quick access to stock and product availability.
- Prepare items for client orders, reservations, and in‑store collections.
- Assist with the packaging and preparation of products in line with brand standards.
- Contribute to smooth day‑to‑day store operations.
- Systems & Reporting
- Ensure all stock movements are accurately reflected in the POS/ERP systems.
- Monitor stock levels and highlight risks (low stock, overstock, slow‑moving items).
- Support reporting on stock performance and inventory discrepancies.
- Loss Prevention & Compliance
- Support loss prevention initiatives and minimise stock shrinkage.
- Investigate discrepancies and escalate any issues promptly.
- Ensure stockroom security and adherence to company policies.
Qualifications
- 2 years' previous experience in stock control or stockroom operations within retail (luxury preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Experience using POS and ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
- Team player with a proactive and hands‑on approach.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
